Oscott Manor School is a Birmingham based specialist school for 11 to 19-year-old students who have autism.
Oscott are a Unicef Rights Respecting School. The Rights Respecting School Award puts children's rights at the heart of schools in the UK. Oscott aim is to be a safe and inspiring place to learn, where children are respected, their talents are nurtured and they are able to thrive.
The school was looking for website design and development that would reflect it’s mission, vision and values. Their site was outdated, not responsive and had no content management system making it hard for any Oscott staff member to update it.
They wanted to promote the school’s messages of inclusion and break down the barrier associated with autism and engage parents, students and staff members more effectively. They also needed their site to be fully responsive across tablet and mobile platforms, be DDA compliant (easy to read and navigate), have social media integrated and be visual with more pictures and less words to tell their story.
We proposed to always use a positive and thoughtful tone of voice site wide, with uplifting photography building and encouraging and supportive feel throughout their site.
We designed a new logo for the school using a bright a vibrate colour palette. We created a website with a selection of modern hues of primary based colours, with a contemporary feel throughout, with positive tone of voice.
Lots of positive photographs and imagery were included for the children having fun and these photos were taken by our photographers here at Mooch, we ensured that the photos evoke a sense of happiness and enjoyment to reflect the main ethos of the school. The website was made with WordPress meaning that the content management system was easy to use and navigate so members of staff could keep the content up-to-date and fresh. Our expert SEO specialists also optimised the site to ensure their site was easy to find and accessible on search engines.
The school have let us know that they're receiving great feedback, in particular for the photographs the students enjoying themselves in the school environment.
Oscott Manor school are very pleased with the website's appearance and ease of use when making content changes.
We are pleased to work with a variety of business who operate within a range of industries and sectors.
