Windsor School and Sixth Form is a comprehensive school offering education to students aged 11 to 18. The school and sixth form encourages aspiration and motivation amongst students and bases academic development on underlying principles such as independence, review and progress learning as well as a positive learning environment.
With just under 2000 pupils, the school and sixth form was the highest performing (non-selective) secondary school in Dudley in 2016 and 2017. We’ve been working for Windsor School and Sixth Form as well as Windsor Academy Trust for many years and continue to help develop with the school’s marketing strategy, year on year.
We created two vibrant prospectuses for both the school and sixth form, coordinating each style and design so when placed beside one another, they looked great and created one large image.
We visited the school and art directed and shot new photography, allowing us to showcase the school and sixth form as an inviting learning environment, letting prospective students imagine being part of the exciting culture that the high achieving establishment has built. We ensured that the photography featured in both prospectuses had Windsor School’s mission, vision and values in mind.
In two different sizes, the prospectus designs follow an original look with lots of rich photography, bright colours and considered typography, showcasing the ethos of the school to prospective students and parents.
Each year Windsor High School and Sixth Form ask us to design and create a bespoke prospectus for potential students and parents. They ask us to deliver a fresh take on the prospectuses, creating a brand new theme and creative style.
Every year the project requires extensive research and design development to discover the perfect design style, echoing the schools message - ‘to pop’. Windsor School and Sixth Form wanted the new prospectuses to be visible, to stand out and above all, engage prospective parents and students with the use of exclusive photography, encapsulating daily school life.
Through a carefully thought-out design process with intense research; we planned our time, captured the perfect shots around the school and sixth form, paying attention to different locations around the school both inside the classroom and around the outside areas of the school. We also captured student life, both in lessons, extra curricular activities and recreation time.
We carefully designed a cover for each of the prospectuses incorporating a sketch with the schools branding and overall image. We then drew assets together, to support each of the internal pages and bring them together to ensure each page was engaging and captured the reader's attention. Each page was based on a specific colour scheme, making the content stand out and “pop”. We also made sure to segment each prospectus into subject specific sections so that prospective students reading could take a look at the specific subjects they’re interested in.
We used our “Think BIG!” methodology to produce three stunning design concepts. These were handed over to Windsor School and Sixth Form allowing them to make an informed decision together and pass on any feedback. Following this, we came together as a team to look at the initial feedback and further develop the prospectus designs to reflect the requirements of the school.
Our final prospectus designs integrated two similar design styles making the prospectuses appear cohesive. Alongside the engaging photography, the layout of the pages gave both prospectuses a unique look, aiming to capture the attention of prospective pupils and parents as well as reflect the ethos and culture of the school seamlessly.
